Visual identity and website for a camper customising company..
When the client approached me, they had a rough idea of what they wanted their brand to be but had trouble visualising it. I wanted to really bring out the personality of the business through the identity.
Working closely with the founder, I discovered he regularly uses the VW California for his custom builds, which has a nice badge that uses an ‘a’ with an elongated finial on it. I wanted to work this visual into the logo if possible. The idea of getting out there and travelling in your camper brings connotations of freedom and easy living, which also align with this ‘California mindset’. This feeling was my inspiration for the visual execution of this brand.
The final logo design held true to the personality I was trying to get across. The thick script typeface felt fun and relaxed, and the extended K paid homage to the VW California badge.
I wanted to maintain this California idea throughout the development of the colour palette. I pulled colours from a typically Californian photo to do so.
The palette worked great with the laid-back feel of the logo and captures the personality of the business.
The website serves as shopfront for the business to showcase the previous camper conversions. It explains the different ways they do business and encourages potential clients to get in touch
Overall, the client and I were really happy with the visual execution of the brand. They have a unique look and feel that captures the carefree spirit of travelling around in your custom camper van.
For the backend of the website I created custom fields using php so that the client could input their own content going forward.
All the images were linked this way and the content is automatically pulled to the front of the site, including the price on the thumbnails.
